MAC Pro Longwear Lip Pencil in Staunchly Stylish (£15.00)
Mac Staunchly Stylish
  1. MAC Pro longwear lip pencil Staunchly Stylish Lip pencil wise I just trusted the MUAs opinion. Burgundy is a deep and intense shade that I think would not only go with Chili but with more of my darker red lipsticks.
  2. Staunchly stylish is a light-medium pink brown. Perfect for everyday wear.
  3. Below: MAC Staunchly Stylish & NYX Natural Wear on the lips is very similar in application and wear with a lipstick or gloss on top of it. The MAC liner is a Pro Longwear product, and it does last a LOT longer than the NYX formula does, but that is to be expected.
  4. Shop MAC Pro Longwear Lip Pencil online at Macys.com. A new generation of longwearing lip pencil technology. Glides on fluidly and adheres instantly. I have been meaning to pick up a MAC lip pencil for a while, but I wasn't sure what shade or formula I should get. After looking at swatches on various blogs, I settled on the Pro Longwear Lip Pencil in Staunchly Stylish. It's slightly more expensive than the standard MAC Lip Pencil, but it is meant to last longer on the lips etc. But was it worth the extra money?
I am still unsure about it. I have been using it for three weeks, almost every day and I love the colour, but the formula is slightly disappointing. It is quite dry and doesn't glide onto the lips like other lip pencils I have tried.
Despite the dry formula, all the other claims are true and the pencil 'adheres instantly, defines the lips with an instant release of rich, saturated colour, pro-longs the hours between re-application and is totally transfer proof'. In my case, I have to reapply it after 3-4 hours. I expected at least 6 hours from the Pro Longwear range. Maybe it's just the shade I got. After all, most lighter colours tend to fade quicker than reds etc.
Staunchly Stylish is a gorgeous peachy nude with a little bit of micro shimmer and it looks very natural on my lips. It dries to a completely mate finish instantly, but it feels slightly drying on the lips.
Wearing MAC Pro Longwear Lip Pencil in Staunchly Stylish
I think I should have bought one of the standard MAC lip pencils for £12.50. I actually ordered one today in shade Subculture and I hope it doesn't feel as dry as the Pro Longwear.

The Pan Am star wanted glowing skin and warm, smoky brown eyes to complement her dusky-pink lace Dolce and Gabbana gown.

Face

Lancôme make-up artist Shehla Sheikh mixed Lancôme Éclat Miracle, €21, an illuminating serum, with Lancôme Teint Miracle foundation, €36, and buffed it onto Annabelle’s cheekbones with the tip of a foundation brush using upward, circular motions to create a dewy finish. She then swept Lancôme Blush Subtil in Rose Sable, €38, over the apples of the cheeks.

Eyes

Shehla mixed Lancôme Ombre Hypnôse Mono eye-shadows, €23 each, in Sable Enchanté, a cool gold shade, and Très Chocolate, a smoky brown, and brushed them across the entire lid for a glamorous eye. She then applied a touch of bronzer to the contour with a shadow-brush. Two coats of lengthening Lancôme Hypnôse Doll Eyes Mascara, €27, finished the look.

Lily James

The Downton Abbey actress chose vintage eyes to match her beautiful vintage-lace dress, says Shehla Sheikh.

Face

Shehla again mixed Lancôme Éclat Miracle serum with Teint Miracle foundation and buffed it onto Lily’s cheekbones. She then used Lancôme Star Bronzer in shade 01, €36.50, to contour below the cheekbones and up the sides of the face.

Eyes

Shehla used a damp brush to give Ombre Hypnôse Mono eye-shadow in Sable Enchanté a strong, metallic finish. She applied this all over the lid and right into the inner corners to make the eyes ’pop’. Lancôme Le Crayon Khol in Brun, €21, was applied to the upper lash-line and then layered with Ombre Hypnôse Mono in Très Chocolate to intensify the colour. Lancôme Hypnôse Star Mascara, €27, created a false-lash effect.

Lips

Lily and Annabelle asked for the same lipstick in Lancôme’s BAFTA make-up suite at The Savoy Hotel.

Dawn Porter

The elfin-faced TV presenter sparkled in a WilliamVintage mini-dress at the IFTAs. MAC senior artist Lesley Keyne shares her make-up secrets.

MAC New Mineralize Moisture Foundation, €36.50, was then layered onto the skin to provide an even, more radiant finish. To finish the look, MAC Cream Colour Base in Hush, €19.50, gave the apples of Dawn’s cheeks peachy warmth.

Eyes

Lesley began by lining the eyes with MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack, €17.50, to act as base for the rest of the makeup. MAC Eyeshadow in Carbon, €15.50, was applied all over the lids and then buffed out with Eyeshadow in Copperplate, €15.50, to give a softer finish. For added depth, the eyes were lined (both top and bottom) with MAC Defiantly Feline Superslick Liquid Eyeliner, €17.50. MAC Opulash Mascara, €18, was applied for voluminous lashes.

MAC Pro Longwear Concealer, €18.50, was added where needed to cover imperfections. MAC Blush in Easy Manner, €22.50, was swept over apples of the cheeks.

Eyes

“We chose warm taupe shades for Anne Marie’s eyes to complement her beautiful blue dress,” explains Lesley. MAC Naturally Eye Pencil in Coffee, €16.50, was wrapped around the whole eye for a strong, rich line. Then MAC Eyeshadow in Charcoal, €15.50, was layered on top for added intensity. Lingering Brow Pencil, €17, added a natural fullness to the brows. The eyes were framed with Opulash Mascara and #7 Lashes, €13, for a fluttery finish.
